2. New Year

As it is now very sadly well into January and the festivities have vanished into the distance, I have, again, set unrealistic and standard New Year's resolutions. I have thus far mostly failed/given it a half hearted attempt. However, I am now about to commit these resolutions to paper (well blog) and therefore reattempt with a little more gusto than the previous half arsed attempt. Plus, it's exam season currently and everyone knows a health kick and procrastin-eating do not go well together, and that is the obligatory resolution so it has had to wait.

First of all, this year will be the year I actually stick to them, but of course, I tell myself this every year.

One of my biggest resolutions this year is to make time for myself, the last few months of 2015 were a little rough and the biggest thing it taught me is to take care of myself and indulge every now and again. I won't go into too much detail but it's strange how the low points teach you so much about yourself, so if any of you are going through a rough patch, trust me, you'll come out the other side and if my experience is anything to go by, probably better for it.

The other of my main resolutions is to embrace change, I am sadly of the negative, change is always a bad thing mindset, and I aim to teach myself that actually, change may be a challenge sometimes, but it definitely isn't always a bad thing.

Actually learn to cook, and hopefully lose weight in the process, having made the typical first year uni student mistake of eating rubbish food and becoming really rather fat. Yes, its a very unoriginal resolution but it is one that in this case needs to be made, I have been envious of those eating healthily, going to the gym regularly and generally managing to be a better adult than me for a while, so now is the time for me to follow their lead. I am going to force myself to fall in love with cooking and healthy eating, with the help of a couple of cookbooks, I hope to share some of my attempts at some photo-worthy healthy meals if I manage to get it right!

Make this year yours. Now, I am aware this sounds very lame, so let me explain. I have done a lot of shower thinking through the holidays (again, lame, I've been revising ok) and have come to the conclusion that most years I spend a lot of time doing what pleases other people and have become rather incapable of standing on my own two feet. Therefore this year, I will do things that make me happy and are good for me. Yes.

I feel four resolutions are probably enough to be getting on with considering my previous success rate.

I do hope your resolutions are going significantly better than mine are (thus far).

  2. This year I set myself the goal to make more time for myself but time I can spend with family and doing things like blogging, reading and drawing. I'm already so proud of myself because on my youtube subscriptions I've gone down from 67 to 8... I always forced myself to watch so many youtube videos but I also couldnt unsubscribe from people because I did like their videos... I guess there were just too many though!
